LPC brings 22 charges against Teffo as it bids to have him suspended

Controversial advocate Malesela Teffo is facing more than 22 charges brought against him by the Legal Practice Council (LPC).

Teffo, who represented four of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial before unceremoniously withdrawing in July, is facing charges related to what the LPC described as his unacceptable conduct.
Advocate Teffo appeared at the High Court in Pretoria on Thursday, as part of the council’s bid to have his licence to practice as legal counsel suspended.
LPC spokesperson Kabelo Letebele says Teffo will respond to their charges on Friday.
“The Legal Practice Council can confirm that today was the first day in court, we had an opportunity to present our case against advocate Teffo.
“Tomorrow advocate Teffo would have an opportunity to respond to the issues that we have presented. After that, it will be up to the court to consider all the presentations made and come to a decision.”
