Malema: Load shedding only suspended for elections
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
EFF leader Julius Malema has accused the ANC of suspending load shedding as part of its campaign for May 29 general elections.

Eskom has not implemented the dreaded planned power cuts for some two months due to what is says is an improvement in reliability of its generation fleet.
The last time South Africa had more than 51 consecutive days without loadshedding was the period between 5 December 2021 and 2 February 2022.
But Malema told scores of EFF supporters on Saturday he remains unconvinced.
"Under the EFF government, there will not be any form of load shedding. Not just for two months but forever.
"It is only the EFF that will bring to the end any form of electricity shortages and cuts.
"We are going to speak to China, we are going to speak to Russia, we are going to speak to all progressive forces to come and build power stations in South Africa," he said.
Malema addressed the EFF's Tshela Thupa election rally at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.
