The corruption case against the former City of Cape Town MMC for Human Settlements, Malusi Booi, has been postponed to 31 January 2025.

The former DA councillor and his eight co-accused appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The group faces charges of money laundering, racketeering, corruption and extortion fraud.
They are accused of being involved in an R1 billion tender fraud within the City of Cape Town's Human Settlements directorate.
One of Booi's co-accused, believed to be Abdul Kader Davids, was shot and killed in Beacon Valley in Mitchells Plain two days after being granted bail last month.
Western Cape National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the postponement was due to due to staff shortages.
"We told the court the reason we were asking for a postponement next year was due to staff shortages as there was one person who does the downloading of cellphone data and analysis in the province.
"That is the same for computer and computer data downloading and analysis. The defence vehemently opposed our application, but we explained to the court that we were alive to the need for a fair and speedy trial for the accused.
"We also informed the court that there was a search and seizure at the residency of the accused one where a lot of bank accounts were seen. We have served Section 205s to the banks to get bank statements. These are still outstanding," he added.
