Mampintsha arrested in connection with Babes Wodumo assualt
Police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the assault on musician Bongekile "Babes Wodumo" Simelane.
Simelane’s boyfriend and fellow musician Mampintsha was filmed assaulting her on her Instagram account.
She later confirmed laying charges against Mampintsha, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo.
The police’s Vishnu Nadioo says the suspect was arrested on Tuesday in Durban and will remain in custody until he appears in court.

Naidoo refused to name the suspect until he appears in the court.
"We will have to process him and then as soon as we are finalised with processing of him, we will bring him before the court.”
Mampintsha will face a charge of assault.
At a media briefing on Tuesday, the Simelane family said that the Durban-based musician is not doing well they also thanked South Africans for the support they have shown to their daughter since the incident.
