Man dumped in Roodeplaat dam identified through DNA

Zeyn Khan was reported missing on 28 November 2021 and his mutilated body was found on 28 December 2021.

The body of a 43-year-old man that was found floating in the Roodeplaat dam in Pretoria, has been positively identified by police through DNA analysis.

Police divers responded to reports of an incident where a group of people who were fishing claimed to have heard an approaching vehicle and immediately thereafter heard what sounded like an object being thrust into the water.
“Following the postmortem report, the Victim Identification Centre (VIC) consulted with families who had reported missing persons for purposes of collecting DNA samples. The VIC on 6 January confirmed that the DNA results matched that of Mr. Khan." said Gauteng police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and death.
No arrests have been made.
