Man killed in buffalo attack on Limpopo farm

A 50-year-old man has been killed in a buffalo attack on a farm in Limpopo.

Police in Lephalale are investigating the circumstances which led to the killing of Benjamin De Bruyn on Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson Mamphaswa Seabi says the victim was with the farm owner of Oxford Farm and a photographer when the buffalo attacked.
“Although the farm owner tried to rescue him by firing some shots at the buffalo, subsequently the buffalo chased and attacked him as well.”
The 50-year-old de Bruyn succumbed to his injuries.
The owner of the Steenbokpan farm managed to escape serious injuries after climbing a tree while the photographer also managed to keep a safe distance.
Seabi has urged farmers and tourists to be extra cautious.
An inquest docket is being investigated.
