Manhunt after armed criminals steal cell phones, laptops worth R1m in Harties

Police in Hartbeespoort have launched a manhunt for an armed criminal gang who pounced on a shopping mall.

The seven unknown suspects broke into a store at the Hartbeespoort Village Mall on Friday morning.
Cell phones and laptops worth R1 million were stolen.
The suspects fled the scene in three vehicles, namely a white Mahindra XUV 500, a white VW Caravelle and a white X series BMW.
"Furthermore, it is alleged that the suspects drove towards the direction of Brits/Ga-Rankuwa. No one was injured during the incident and no arrest made thus far", said North West police spokesperson Amanda Funani.
Police are investigating two counts of attempted murder and business burglary.
No injuries have been reported.
