Mbuyiseni Ndlozi resigns as EFF MP

The EFF has confirmed that Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and Yazini Tetyana have "voluntarily resigned" as representatives of the party in Parliament.

Ndlozi was excluded from participating in the recent EFF national assembly last month, the highest decision-making conference of the party.
Tetyana was part of the Eastern Cape provincial legislature and Parliament, while Ndlozi has been in the National Assembly since 2014.
The EFF’s Sinawo Thambo says both members have been exemplary in their deployments.
“The voluntary requests to be released from deployment were sent to the Secretary General of the EFF consecutively and within days of each other, expressed gratitude to the EFF for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the people of South Africa.
“The EFF has accepted the respective voluntary requests to be released from the deployment of the two Fighters, who have diligently served the organisation in their respective deployments since the EFF has had representation in the legislative sphere.
Speaking to supporters in November, EFF leader Julius Malema said Ndlozi remained a member of the red berets.
"I hear people are talking about Dr Ndlozi as a member of the EFF, he's a leader of the EFF, and no organisation can claim him except for the EFF,” Malema said.
“So you must not listen to gossip from drunkards. You ask us about the EFF leaders, and we will tell you that Ndlozi is an active EFF member. He renewed his membership. He is in the membership system of the EFF,” he said.
Ndlozi, who is also a member of the Central Command Team, has held significant roles in the EFF since the party's founding, including as its first national spokesperson.
