Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Gauteng Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi has confirmed that police have obtained the Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) footage on the premises of Hoërskool Garsfontein as part of the investigation into the death of Grade 10 pupil Mia Kühn.
A security officer at Hoërskool Garsfontein had discovered her body on the school’s rugby field at about 8am on Tuesday.
Gauteng Member of the Executive Committee (MEC) for Education, Matome Chiloane, told the media at the time that it was unclear exactly how the teenager gained access to the school premises, as it was winter holiday and the school was closed.
"They don’t know how she gained entry, but she did, and I really think that's where the police should start."
According to Kühn's mother, Mia was still at home at midnight when they went to sleep.
On Friday morning, Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi told Jacaranda FM News that police are in possession of the CCTV footage, but that no further information can be revealed at this stage.
Nevhuhulwi also confirmed that the autopsy has been completed.
"The autopsy is done but we are still waiting for a written report from the doctor.”
