Minister Chikunga takes time off after health scare

The Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, is taking time off after a medical scare during the Y20 meeting in Ekurhuleni on Monday.

The Minister had to be escorted off stage while delivering the keynote address.


Spokesperson for the minister, Cassius Selala, said Chikunga has been advised to take time off from her official schedule to rest and recuperate following a medical incident. 


Selala said Chikunga remains committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by Women,

Youth, and Persons with Disabilities through Economic Empowerment, Social Justice and

Inclusion, as well as Advocacy, Mainstreaming, Monitoring, and Evaluation.

 

"The DWYPD is working to create a more inclusive and equitable society for all, with a

particular focus on empowering and enhancing the well-being of Women, Youth, and

Persons With Disabilities," said Selala.
