Ministerial committee to brief SA on measures to curb Covid-19

South Africans are waiting with bated breath to know if there will be further changes to the Covid-19 regulations as the country faces a brutal third wave of infections.

Earlier this month President Cyril Ramaphosa tightened restrictions when he put the country under level 3 of lockdown.
The move saw stricter curfew hours, booze restrictions and a pinch on gatherings.
Despite the desperate measures in place, infections soared this week, causing widespread speculation of further restrictions.
On Saturday, Government spokesperson Phumla Williams announced an upcoming national ministerial briefing.
“Ministers representing the IMC [Inter-ministerial Committee] on Covid-19 will host a media briefing to communicate on the compliance measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections,” she said.
The press briefing is expected to kick off at 1pm on Sunday.
