A man has been arrested following the discovery of the body of a missing Free State municipal employee.

Thirty-year-old Disebo Mosupa, who was the acting youth development officer at Matjhabeng Municipality, was reported missing last week.
Mosupa's father raised the alarm after he allegedly found her home ransacked and her car damaged.
According to reports, the father went to check on his daughter on Friday but found her house locked. It's alleged he then called Mosupa's partner, who told him that the house was unlocked.
Upon arriving at the house for a second time, the victim’s father found her gate open, and when he went inside, he found her clothes strewn across the floor and noticed what appeared to be drag marks on the floor. That is when he alerted the police.
Free State police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says their extensive search for Mosupa led them to a graveyard in Welkom.
"Upon receiving information about Disebo's disappearance, a team comprising of police investigators, community members, and family members embarked on a thorough search, which led to a body being found at Thabong Cemeteries.
"The body, which was buried in a used grave, was exhumed this morning by forensic investigators."
Police confirmed a 37-year-old suspect has been arrested for murder.
