Over the weekend, Majodina insisted that the country is not facing a water supply crisis despite ongoing erratic water supply in Joburg, eThekwini, and other areas around the country.

MK MP Visvin Reddy spoke in the National Assembly on Tuesday during a debate on a report of Parliament’s water and sanitation committee.

The report was compiled after residents of Germiston complained of water supply issues.

"This minister is unfit for office. She is in denial, out of touch, and failed our nation,” Reddy told MPs.

"We reject these recommendations and refuse to support another empty report filled with delays. We demand real action. This does not put water in the taps of the residents of Germiston.

"The residents of eTthekwini have been without water for months. We work with people on the ground, and we know their plight and their suffering without water.

"To those in the country who are crying for water, we say to you. Pemmy, must go! Pemmy must go!" shouted Reddy shouted.

During the National Water Month launch on Saturday at Rand Water's Eikenhof Pumpstation, Majodina said that the country's water capacity remains stable, with dam levels in good condition.
