Mokgalapa: No service delivery, no performance bonuses
Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
Tshwane mayor Stevens Mokgalapa has vowed that councillors who fail to deliver adequate services to communities would not receive any performance bonuses.

Mokgalapa delivered his State of the Capital Address in Pretoria on Thursday.
He outlined measures to ensure that the needs of residents are met, including adequate water and sanitation.
"What I mean by this, fellow councillors, is we cannot give a bonus to a director of electricity while the city remains dark. Gone are the days where officials get bonuses while residents are not getting services."
He added that his vision for the city was simple: "Fix the potholes, cut the grass, switch on the street lights. Nothing more, nothing less."

"I understand the plight of the people and frustrations with service delivery. However, acts of criminality will not be tolerated," he said, condemning the violence.
