More than 2000 police officers jabbed in one day

The South African Police Service Covid-19 vaccination drive has inoculated over 2000 members in one day.

Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says 2055 vaccines have been administered to police officers and support personnel.
These were administered at the SAPS academy in Tshwane and Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
“At Orlando Stadium, 760 members were vaccinated, bringing the total number of members who have been vaccinated over the first two days at the site to 1285.

“At SAPS Tshwane Academy, a second vaccination site, a total of 770 members had been vaccinated over two days.”
The SAPS' provincial rollout will start on Thursday with Gauteng only expected to begin on Friday.
To date a total 32 565 SAPS members have been infected with Covid-19 to date.
Recoveries stand at 30 955 with deaths having increased to 673.
