Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
Police have arrested more than 50 people for public violence following a protest by taxi drivers in Sedibeng on Wednesday.

A large group of taxi drivers blockaded several streets with vehicles, burning tyres and rocks.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says officers have been deployed to monitor the situation.
"The areas affected by the protests are Vereeniging and Sebokeng.
"Roads have been cleared and the only road blocked is the Van Riebeeck Road."
Police couldn’t confirm the reason for the protest but demonstrators have taken to social media accusing the government of failing to construct appropriate infrastructure for taxis.
