A 30-year-old woman from Bela Bela in Limpopo was arrested on Tuesday for neglecting her disabled 12-year-old daughter.

Police found the child chained to a chair in a locked room after being alerted by members of the local community.
The mother is due to appear in the local magistrates court on Thursday on a charge of child neglect.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says there is concern that most cases of child neglect are going unreported.
Provincial police commissioner Nneke Ledwaba has also urged members of the community to follow the example of Bela Bela community and report cases of child negligence.
