Motshekga: Strict measures in place to prevent leaking of exam papers
Updated | By Makhosazane Twala
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says strict measures have been put in place by the department to prevent any measure irregularities during the matric final exams.

The class of 2022 will write their first paper on Monday.
Motshekga briefed the media on the state of readiness ahead of the National Senior Certificate examinations in Pretoria on Sunday morning.
The minister said security has been beefed up to prevent the leaking of question papers.
“The Department of Basic Education has stepped up its security across all points in the question paper chain based on the continuous review of all examination processes.
“All learners for the National Senior Certificate examinations and their parents have signed a commitment agreement to maintain honesty and not participate in any irregularity during the writing of the exams.”
Motshekga said a study conducted by quality assurance body Umalusi has proven the education system to be reputable and stable.
“National Senior Certificate provides its holders with an international compatible level of education. It’s pleasing that the study finds the greater degree between our national certificate and other qualification in terms of design, intended curriculum and assessment method.
“As a sector we are excited with the report because it confirms that our system is stable, reputable and can be trusted.”
