NCCC to meet on Wednesday amid rising Covid-19 infections, deaths
Updated | By Algoa FM News
The National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) will hold its first meeting of the new year on Wednesday.

Rumours were doing the rounds earlier that President Cyril Ramaphosa would address the nation on Monday night and announce a return to level 5 of the lockdown.
Government has strongly denied the reports.
The meeting comes as the country continues to see a spike in infections and the Covid-19 related death toll passing 30 000.
Government spokesperson, Phumla Williams, says while the NCCC will be holding its first meeting, it does not automatically follow that the president will be holding a family gathering this week.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday) the National Coronavirus Command Council will be convincing its first meeting in 2021 at 9:00. There is no plan of the president having a briefing because we don’t even know what the meeting will be discussing, so there is no information to that effect.”
