Nelson Mandela Foundation: Ayanda Mabulu painting distasteful
Updated | By Suné du Toit
The Nelson Mandela Foundation has reacted sharply to the latest painting by controversial artist Ayanda Mabulu, titled 'The Rape of the Economy'.

The painting shows former President Nelson Mandela being sodomised by President Jacob Zuma.
The foundation's Luzuko Koti said they note the public outrage the painting has caused and appreciates the fact that the public is offended by it.
"The foundation would like to express that it respects Mr Mabulu's right to freedom of expression. We however find this painting distasteful," said Koti.
Mabulu previously made headlines with paintings depicting President Zuma engaged in a sexual act with a member of the Gupta family.
