New Covid-19 cases rise by over 12 000, 413 new deaths

The number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 2 368 105.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases said on Saturday evening that 12 056 new coronavirus cases had been recorded since its previous report.
The majority of new cases were from Gauteng (30%), followed by the Western Cape (21%), while KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 14%.
The death toll has climbed to 69 488, with 413 new deaths reported.
There has also been an increase of 455 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
At 17:00 on Saturday, a total of 6 357 328 vaccines had been administered.
