Member of the Johannesburg Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Safety, Mgcini Tshwaku, says a new suspect has been pointed out by another suspect who alleged that the Pakistani shop owner had instructed him to murder Fose.

The revelation comes after Mduduzi Mnisi appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder.
Fose’s mutilated body was discovered in an open veld in the Durban Deep area by a passerby on Sunday, 1 June 2025.
Tshwaku says members of the Johannesburg Metro Police have been deployed in Durban Deep following heightened tensions, with the shop being looted.
"The JMPD has deployed units to the area to secure and prevent further violence. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather evidence and bring all perpetrators to justice.
"The community is urged to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies."
