No arrests in Mokgalakwena tender investigation

The Hawks in Limpopo says no arrests have been made amid claims of tender irregularities at Mogalakwena Municipality in Limpopo.

Several documents were seized from the municipality on Friday.
The troubled municipality has been placed under administration by provincial government due to the magnitude of reported irregular expenditure and allegations of corruption.
Hawks spokesperson Matimba Maluleke says detectives could still go back to the municipality to seize more documents.
“Mogalakwena Municipality is under investigation and so as part of the ongoing investigation it necessitated us to go to the municipal offices and seize some documents that are going to assist in the investigation.
“So far no one has been arrested but we can assure you that investigations are running smoothly and we will communicate into the matter as soon as we make an arrest.”
