No word on Mahumapelo successor

The African National Congress (ANC) has not yet decided on the name of Supra Mahumapelo¹s successor as Premier of North West.

The ANC's National Executive Committee (NEC) is meeting in Irene, outside Pretoria, where issues around North West, land expropriation and regional conferences are expected to top the agenda.
ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule says the party is still discussing who will lead the North West.
"We need further engagement. It¹s normally the practice and conference resolution. The PEC (provincial executive committee) is supposed to give us three names and they have done so. But we further want to engage with
the PEC as well as other structures so that we take on board and resolve the problems of the North West once and for all," he told reporters on Sunday.
The ANC says it will also hold further discussions with traditional leaders over land expropriation.
"We need to further consult with everybody. The alliance (partners) are happy they participated in the workshop. We have taken a decision to engage with traditional leadership throughout South Africa and that work is work in progress," said Magashule.
