NW gets new Education MEC following another reshuffle
Updated | By OFM News
North West Premier Bushy Maape has announced another cabinet reshuffle.

Maape has appointed the ANC’s deputy provincial secretary and deputy speaker of the legislature, Viola Motsumi, as the new MEC for Education.
She was appointed following the resignation of former MEC Wendy Matsemela, who resigned on Tuesday.
This is the second cabinet reshuffle since the ANC’s recent provincial conference, which elected former MP Nono Maloyi as chairperson.
Earlier Maape fired former Cooperative Governance and Human Settlements MEC Lenah Miga.
ANC chairperson Maloyi was then appointed as the new MEC for the department.
Meanwhile, the North West Department of Education has welcomed the appointment of Motsumi as the new MEC.
The department’s spokesperson Elias Malindi says they are proud to have one of their own holding the fort.
“She is no stranger to the institution. We have witnessed her passion to serve the people of North West as a teacher, and our parliamentary liaison. We believe she will lead the department to its greatest heights in our quest to continually improve the quality of education in the province.”
