The office of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini says it is pleased with the support it has received from President Cyril Ramaphosa in resolving the issue over the Zulu throne.
A high court ruled this week that the state's recognition of the monarch was "unlawful".
It also ordered Ramaphosa to investigate whether King Misuzulu's accession was in line with customary laws.
Ramaphosa says he will challenge the ruling.
The Zulu royal house has welcomed the move to appeal.
It has issued a statement explaining that Misuzulu remains the rightful king, adding that he will continue to fulfill his duties to the people of KZN.
