Gauteng police have arrested one suspect after shots were fired at two vehicles transporting taxi bosses in Midrand on Tuesday afternoon.

It is reported that the taxi owners were coming from a meeting and being escorted by security officers when their two vehicles came under fire on the corner of Olifantsfontein and Lever Road.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says police are searching for the other suspects involved in the shootout.
"A shootout ensued between the suspects and the security officers who were escorting the taxi owners.
"It is further reported that one of the suspects was left behind as the two others drove away. Police were alerted and responded swiftly. The suspect, who was left behind, was hunted and found with an AK-47 magazine not far from the scene."
Mavela adds four people were injured.
"Two of the taxi owners and two bystanders were hit by the bullets during the shootout and sustained injuries. They were all taken to the nearest medical care centre for medical treatment.
"Police have opened a case of attempted murder and are on the lookout for the suspects who are still at large. The arrested suspect is expected to appear before the local magistrate's court in due course."
