One injured in Lenasia building collapse
Updated | By Lebohang Ndashe
One person was injured in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, following the collapse of an incomplete residential building.

Johannesburg emergency services responded to the incident on Tuesday night at the corner of Guinea Fowl Street and Smew Avenue.
Upon arrival, structural rescue technicians freed the injured individual from the rubble and transported them to a nearby medical facility.
Emergency services spokesperson Nana Radebe-Kgiba explained that the patient was trapped under the debris from a nearby house and added that builders often work without proper supervision.
“Apparently, the builders just come in, work and go home because the owner is currently out of the country,” she said.
“Emergency services clarified that there were no additional people under the rubble, contrary to earlier reports, following multiple interviews with eyewitnesses.”
The cause of the structural collapse will be investigated.
