One killed in Knoppieslaagte light aircraft crash

One person has been killed in a light aircraft crash near the N14 at Knoppieslaagte in Centurion.

The aircraft had crashed into the Swaartbooispruit River on Wednesday morning.
“On arrival on scene a light fixed wing aircraft was found to have crashed into a river. The pilot who was the only occupant of the aircraft was declared dead on arrival of paramedics”, says Emer-G-med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.
The pilot, who was the only person on board the aircraft, was declared dead on scene.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing with the police and the SA Civil Aviation Authority.
