OUTA takes state capture evidence to Parliament

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) has compiled a massive case document, which they say contains sufficient evidence to warrant President Jacob Zuma's removal from office.

OUTA started compiling the document in April 2017 to expose the reality and extent of Zuma's conduct and connection to state capture.

Addressing the media in Cape Town, the organisation said this document will be presented to National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete, before being personally emailed to all Members of Parliament.

OUTA will also present the document to other relevant institutions and people in authority, such as the African National Congress's (ANC) NEC, the Hawks, the Minister of Police, the National Prosecuting Authority and Public Protector.

"We believe that various members of opposition parties will put this motion forward to have this matter discussed," said OUTA's Wayne Duvenage.

Duvenage said they believe all MPs should be given the change to read through the document, before the motion of no confidence in President Zuma.

"We believe that when you present it in this manner - we are all adults - we all have an executive mind-set and we need to apply our minds to what is presented. If they want to fob it off, if they want to ignore it, if they don't want to ignore it, it is their choice."

OUTA said the case document has also been prepared and compiled in a manner that makes it suitable for presentation in a court of law and they will contemplate turning to the Constitutional Court when convinced that it would be meaningful to do so.

The document will also be handed over to law enforcement agencies, as the organisation believes that others implicated in the report should also be removed from office and prosecuted.
