Patriotic Alliance to meet with MK Party for possible coalition talks
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has confirmed that it will meet with representatives of the uMkhonto WeSizwe Party this morning for possible coalition talks.

This comes almost a week after African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa made the announcement that the ANC's National Executive Council (NEC) decided on a Government of National Unity as the best option to move the country forward after the 29 May elections.
The PA says their leaders have consistently maintained that they are open to discussions with any party regarding possible coalition formations.
PA spokesperson Steve Motale says in line with this approach, the party has already held 'productive' meetings with the ANC over the proposed Government of National Unity (GNU).
"Recently, we were approached by the MK Party for a discussion on the election results and potential coalition agreements. President McKenzie has released a draft agenda to our members for our members to know what the talking points are. True to our commitment to transparency to our members, we have agreed to meet with the MK Party tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
"Following the conclusion of this meeting, we will promptly report back to our members regarding the outcomes."
