Police in Limpopo have arrested more than 2000 suspects during various anti-crime operations in the province.

The suspects were nabbed for various crimes, including drunk driving, outstanding traffic fines and the contravention of Covid-19 regulations.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says members of a local community in Mokwakwaila were also arrested after damaging a police vehicle during an earlier protest.
“The operation also included the enforcement of the regulations under the Disaster Management Act. Amongst the persons arrested is the owner of an illegal liquor outlet at Mokwakwaila where people attacked and damaged a police vehicle on Christmas day when the police were enforcing the law.”
The arrested suspects will appear in various courts in the province soon.
