Police to monitor Eersterust community protest
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Police and Metro Police officers in Tshwane are monitoring a
protest at Stormvoël and Waltloo Road in the Eersterust area, north of
Pretoria, on Wednesday morning.

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) spokesperson, Isaac Mahamba, says residents of Eersterust are protesting because they feel excluded from a project undertaken in the area.
Mahamba adds Eersterust residents believe most people employed at this project are from Mamelodi and not their area.
"Currently the situation is normal, but there is heavy traffic in the area. We advise motorists to use alternative routes," says Mahamba.
He adds police will remain on the scene until the situation is normalised.
