Police ordered to assist Tshwane farmer against land grabs
The North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has ordered the Minister of Police to assist in removing land invaders from a farm north of Pretoria.
The court ordered that the sheriff be dispatched on Monday to evacuate the invaders from the land belonging to Dr Motodi Samuel Maserumule.
AfriForum approached the High Court on Friday, together with the black farmer.
AfriForum's Marnus Kamfer says Maserumule approached the organisation after the police failed to assist him in removing the scatters from his land.
"If all goes well the sheriff will go out on Monday, have the police to assist and then remove the scatters," says Kamfer.
Kamfer says police refused to help Maserumule remove the land invaders, since the first time he brought it to the attention of authorities.
