Authorities in Ekurhuleni are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in the Natalspruit River in Palm Ridge.

The body was retrieved by the city’s rescue unit and police on Tuesday.
City of Ekurhuleni emergency services spokesperson William Ntladi said the body was in a decomposed state.
"A body was in a prone position and was seen in the middle of the stream. Teams dressed in water rescue gear, took all necessary required equipment, and advanced for recovery.
"Two members went into the not-so-deep water stream and managed to package the partially decomposed body into a skid-stretcher and pulled him out to the western river bank.
"Gauteng provincial government ambulance services' paramedics declared the patient dead on scene. The operation was handed over officially to SAPS officers to further the investigation."
