Police searching for Ukrainian woman ‘kidnapped’ in Western Cape

Police
in the Western Cape are investigating the apparent kidnapping of a 35-year-old
woman in Blue Downs on Thursday morning.

Anichka Penev, who is a Ukrainian national, was snatched from her car by unknown suspects.
Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk says they are investigating a case of kidnapping and attempted murder.
“This office confirms the name of the victim to be Anichka Penev, Ukrainian national. The matter is under investigation by Provincial Organised Crime Kidnapping team.
“This office can unfortunately not provide a photo of the victim, taking into consideration the POPIA Act. Investigations continue.”
