Possible water cuts in Gauteng next week
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Rand Water said from next week Monday to Wednesday maintenance will start for pipe repairs at Eikenhof and valve replacement at Zwartkopjes systems.

This will result in low water pressure or an intermittent supply in parts of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, and Tshwane.
The maintenance which started last month, is aimed at improving a sustainable and efficient water supply.
Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said pumping capacity will be reduced at the Eikenhof, Zwartkopjes, and Palmiet systems.
"The organisation is pleased to announce the significant progress achieved thus far, including the successful connection of the newly constructed B16 pipeline, which will supply water from the new Station 5A at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant."
The maintenance is expected to end on 18 July 2025.
