Post-matric qualification needed to serve on EFF leadership
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The EFF has outlined strict criteria for members aspiring to serve on the party's highest decision-making body, the Central Command Team (CCT).

The structure, which is made up of 40 elected members, is responsible for crucial party decisions.
These guidelines are part of the policy amendments up for discussion at the party’s 3rd National People’s Assembly.
The elective conference will start on Thursday.
In its discussion document, the EFF emphasised that only members with a post-matric qualification will qualify to serve on the CCT.
The party says this requirement ensures the body demonstrates the determination, capacity, and willingness to lead effectively.
Beyond academic qualifications, members must also showcase critical skills.
This includes the ability to present their own written work and provide political education and training to lower structures within the party.
"Every CCT member must be an all-rounder who has capacity to organise and mobilise without seeking external assistance,” the party said.
"The CCT should be composed of members who deeply understand the founding manifesto of the EFF, the constitution and all other policies of the organisation.
"The CCT should be composed of members who are able to conduct political education and training to all lower structures.
"The CCT should be composed of members who will not complain about the vastness of South Africa and are thus able and willing to 28 travel the length and breadth of South Africa to do the work of the organisation.
"The CCT should be composed of commissars who will not completely depend on the organisation for everyday basic organisational necessities such as travel to their areas of deployment and must have capacity to legitimately and legally fundraise in a manner that will not compromise the organisation and themselves as leaders," wrote the party.
The EFF believes that the CCT must ne made up of individuals capable of providing strategic direction to South Africans.
"The CCT should be defined by a certain degree of meritocracy wherein only those who have demonstrated verifiable leadership qualities and loyalty to the organisation should be elected into the CCT.
The CCT should be composed of commissars who can speak coherently and cogently with the power to persuade and agitate the people.
“The CCT should be composed of commissars who are able to conduct media interviews and participate in public debates in a manner that will not bring doubt on the collective capacity of the organisation," explained the EFF.
Delegates at the assembly will also elect new leaders and review other key policies to shape the EFF’s future trajectory.
