Prayer session ‘to welcome Zuma back home’
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Religious leaders in KwaZulu-Natal
will hold a prayer session on Thursday to welcome back home former president
Jacob Zuma and to thank God for keeping him safe during his time as head of
state.

The gathering is being organised by the National Interfaith Council of SA (Nicsa), in partnership with the Commission for Religious Affairs in Zuma’s home village in KwaNxamalala.
Nicsa's Bishop Timothy Ngcobo says they will pray for the former president, who is still facing charges of fraud and corruption.

"We need to give him a spiritual relief that when he gets home he must come as a ordinary man, not come with the frustration of the country.
"So what we are saying is that we need to pray for him and his family and to wish him a long leave after his retirement.”
Ngcobo says they will also pray for the implementation of issues Zuma fought for as president, such as radical socioeconomic transformation and land expropriation without compensation.
Ngcobo says Zuma and other leaders will be present at the gathering.
