Pretoria West tyre fire could rage the whole week

A major fire in the west of Tshwane is only expected to be extinguished within the next four of five days.

The city's emergency servicesy says it's believed that millions of tyres are burning but there is no confirmation as to what caused the fire.
Firefighters are battling to extinguish the fire due to the intensity of the heat.
There is also no water available at the site in Sunderland Ridge.
Spokesperson,Johan Pieterse says upon their arrival on Saturday, personnel saw the heaps of tyres engulfed in flames.

"We are not sure what caused the fire. On our arrival, we saw thousands to millions of tyres that are on fire. Investigations will follow."
He says firefighters are working around the clock to ensure the blaze does not spread to other stacks of tyres.
According to Pieterse, residents are not in immediate danger, but there is concern over pollution.
