Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The Department of Correctional Services is investigating a fire that engulfed one of the cells at the Leeuwkop Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

Several prisoners had to be relocated after the cell went up in flames.
Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo says the fire was quickly contained.
“No injuries were reported as officials reacted with necessary urgency to put down the fire when it flared up. Only one cell was affected.”
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
“The centre is calm and daily operations are continuing,” says Nxumalo.
