Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Self-proclaimed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, his wife Mary, and four others are facing fraud and money laundering charges.

The charges relate to an investment scheme valued at R102 million rand through a company owned by their co-accused Willah Joseph Mudolo and his wife Zethu.
Two companies are listed on the Company and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) under the Mudolos, ‘Rising Estate’ registered in 2016 and ‘Rising Estate Holdings’ registered in 2017.
A third company ‘Rising Estate Mnandi Development’, which was registered in 2017, is owned by Mudulo and two others.

According to the African Development Funding Group (ADF), an investment company based in Hong Kong and has offices in Sandton, Mudolo is a start-up business specialist who specialises in mining, agriculture, media, real estate and heads up their global operations.
ADF adds that Mudolo has an MBA in Finance and Accounting and a BSc. in Finance & Accounting.
Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) could not confirm whether the Mudolos are members of the congregation.
On October 14, Bushiri posted a picture of several individuals who have appeared alongside another self-proclaimed prophet Paseka Mostsoening, known as Pastor Mboro, in news articles accusing Bushiri of defrauding them.
They claimed they were ECG church members, who were urged by Bushiri in 2017, to invest thousands of rands which were deposited in the Rising Estate bank account.
In the Instagram post, Bushiri claims they were recruited by Mboro to make false allegations against him.
