Ramaphosa to attend Tanzanian President, John Magufuli's funeral

Magufuli passed away last week in a Dar es Salaam hospital at the age of 61.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has undertaken a visit to Dodoma, the national capital of the United Republic of Tanzania, to attend the funeral of the late Tanzanian President, John Pombe Magufuli.
Magufuli passed away last week in a Dar es Salaam hospital at the age of 61.
Vice-President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been inaugurated as President Magufuli’s successor, becoming the country's first female president.

Hassan, 61, a soft-spoken Muslim woman from the island of Zanzibar, will finish Magufuli's second five-year term, set to run until 2025.
She becomes the only other current serving female head of state in Africa alongside Ethiopia's President Sahle-Work Zewde, whose role is mainly ceremonial.
