Ramaphosa will carry 'SA message' to White House

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says all South Africans know the allegations of genocide against some minorities are false.

This follows the resettling of a group of Afrikaners in the United States as refugees this week, after fleeing what they claim to be persecution.
The US government has accused the South African government of persecuting certain minorities following the signing of the Land Expropriation Act.
Ramaphosa spoke on the sidelines of ANC’s Northern Cape provincial executive committee induction in Kimberley on Friday.
"We all know, as South Africans, both black and white, that there is no genocide here. We are not committing any act of hatred, act of retribution against or violence against anyone,” he said.
"Every South African knows and agrees that there's no genocide here. The false stories that have been perpetrated, are not true. They are not a reflection of who we are.”
Next week, Ramaphosa is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington in an attempt to mend strained relations between the two countries.
"We are a peace-loving country, that is committed to transformation, to ensuring that the people of our country have a better life," said Ramaphosa.
"We will be carrying forward a South African message. And we are very strong on that, and robust as well. "
