Ramaphosa expected to make announcement on ANC coalition on Thursday

African National Congress president Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to make an announcement on Thursday evening on the party's coalition position.

The ANC's National Executive Committee is locked in a meeting to discuss possible partners following its failure to obtain an outright majority in this year’s general election.
Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula spoke on the sidelines of the NEC meeting taking place in Johannesburg.
He has labelled as misplaced, a protest outside the meeting venue by some members who are opposed to a possible ANC-DA coalition.
"The protest is on the basis of disinformation. The ANC has never said that it is going into coalition with the DA. The question is: What have you achieved, and what model is good for South Africa? And when that model is agreed, will others even beyond the ANC agree to it?
"The closing address of the president will be open to the media, and they will get it from the horse's mouth as to what has been decided."
