Ramathuba appoints 3 new heads of departments
Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba has appointed heads of departments for Education, Agriculture and Social Development following an executive council meeting last week.
The trio will assume their responsibilities as heads and accounting officers of the respective departments effective from
1 August 2025.
Ramathuba has expressed confidence in the new senior officials who will fill the long-standing vacancies for next five years.
"Mr Maropene Veniel Seshibe has been appointed as Head and Accounting Officer of the Department of Education," says Premier's spokesperson Thilivhali Muavha.
"Ms Thembeni Elphie Mhlongo has been appointed as Head and Accounting Officer of the Department of Social Development. Ms Mpho Abigail Mashamba has been appointed as Head and Accounting Officer of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development."
Mauvha says the executive council is expected to finalise the appointment of the Head of Department for Health within the next two weeks.
He further confirmed that interviews for the Head of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture will conclude next month.
