Rhythm City actor killed in attempted hijacking

Rhythm City actor Dumi Masilela died after an unknown number of suspects opened fire during an attempted hijacking in Tembisa last night.

Masilela was driving in the car with a friend at the time of the incident.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says a case of murder and attempted hijacking is being investigated.
“There was an attempted hijacking in Tembisa last night. After investigations police found actor Dumi Masilela and his friend was shot at by an unknown number of suspects. His friend survived the incident,” says Makhubele.
The Rhythm City actor played the character of Sifiso Ngema on the popular soap.
“They were driving a Golf 7 when the hijackers approached them. Masilela was taken to hospital where he died,” says Makhubele.
The Department of Arts and Culture has since conveyed their condolences.
