Robbery, shootout at Cresta Mall

Security guards at
Cresta Mall in the north of Johannesburg arrested two suspects following a
robbery on Tuesday morning.

The police's Mavela Masondo says three armed suspects accosted Totalsports employees when they opened up the shop at around 9am.
"The suspects took some items from the shop including cell phones.”
Masondo says the suspects were approached by security guards and a shootout ensued, leaving one suspect injured.

"The injured suspect was taken to hospital under police guard and the other two were arrested on the spot," he says.
The suspects will be facing charges of armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The items stolen from the shop were recovered and returned.
