SAA cancels flights to Blantyre Airport in Malawi
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The South African Airways (SAA) has cancelled flights to
Blantyre Airport in Malawi.

This comes after a base inspection by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) led to a number of findings against operations at the Chileka International Airport.
CAA's spokesperson, Phindiwe Gwebu, says the findings by their inspectors indicate operations at the airport do not comply to civil aviation regulations and international standards.
"As a result, we found that the findings may compromise safety," says Gwebu.
Gwebu says similar inspections were conducted at Lilongwe International Airport in the country and the result came back positive.
Gwebu could not give a time frame when flights will return to Blantyre, saying the airport first must address the concerns of the CAA.
