The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has confirmed that the plane that was meant to take President Cyril Ramaphosa to Cape Town this week had to make an emergency landing on Thursday.

Presidency spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya says the President has been in Cape Town since Monday though and that no problems with his aircraft had been communicated with them.
Ramaphosa is delivering the State of the Nation Address (Sona) at the Cape Town City Hall on Thursday evening.
While the details surrounding the incident remain sketchy, SANDF spokesperson Andries Mahapa said the incident happened on Thursday morning.
"We are still waiting for a report from the technical team and will be able to communicate what happened," said Mahapa
